The International Trade Centre (ITC) in cooperation with GIZ SRECA project are providing online trainings for Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia and Vietnam regarding the topics: “Doing Business with Chinese People” and “Creating Quality E-Commerce Content”.

As the training content is now available in Lao language, the SME Service Center (SSC) at the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) promoted these online trainings, by outreaching to existing SSCs on the provincial level to organise a workshop on 15 December 2022. Therefore, representatives from the SSCs on provincial level were invited to join a full day workshop at the LNCCI in Vientiane.

The workshop was opened by Mr. Daovone Phachanthavong, Vice President of LNCCI, and Mr. Gebhard Ott on behalf of GIZ. Supported by SSC staff Ms. Thepphaphone Bounthavone who works for the Strengthening Regional Structures for Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion in ASEAN (ASEAN SME) project, a regional project implemented by GIZ which also cooperates with the SSC at LNCCI. The workshop guided the participants through the different training modules successfully.

The training modules covered among others: the main aspects of Chinese culture, with a particular focus on business culture and business etiquette. Furthermore, the importance to design diverse e-commerce contents presenting various aspects of the products and the company background was also introduced. 

The workshop participants showed high interests in the online training courses and were encouraged to give open feedback for the improvement of the trainings provided in Laotian.
